cleaning out the cobwebs

I had grand plans. I did. I thought by the new year I would be blogging again. I probably said that every year since I went quiet. this time I meant it though!

I probably never felt like I was gone, what with twitter, instagram, ravelry, and, once upon a time, flickr. I have been craving a spot that allowed more space for my words. there have been things I’ve wanted to say or share, but the moment passes.

but the blog, I remember having this blog and the joy it brought me (and the annoyances as well, lest we forget the nasty comments left here and there). poor thing had been neglected and looking aged. so I’ve been sprucing it up since the beginning of the year with the hopes this would recharge my writing. I didn’t think it would take this long, but moving an old blog isn’t as quick and simple as I thought.

will it work? we’ll see.

I’ve been knitting. oh, how I’ve been knitting. I hope to share some of it with you soon.

The new blog looks great! I think the main reason I’ve maintained my blog through all the years is my need to write, and how much I enjoy telling a story (about knitting, as it happens to be), which the other media simply do not allow in the same way. It’s nice to see you here again, and I look forward to reading what you have to share!

Welcome back! It’s so hard to get back to a blog when the landscape seems to have changed so much and everything has moved over to other so social platforms. I’ve been trying to be better about blogging as well, I miss that special connection that can only come through telling a longer story.
