I’ve been trying to do a little spring cleaning the last couple of days. just tidying up, getting rid of things we don’t need or use, and some deep cleaning (I LOVE my new dyson). after catching up on my mid-mod bee blocks I haven’t had a chance to do much sewing. times like these are when I start playing with my fabric stash and dream up new projects. this time a wall hanging based on lynne’s qal . I’m pretty excited because she invited me to guest post later about it on her blog! let’s hope I actually figure out what I’m doing by then. so far I have two palette contenders.

moody stack

first we have the ‘moody’ stack which makes my heart go pitter-patter. I actually started putting this stack together a couple of weeks ago for the baby quilt I’m working on now. and then I remembered I was making a BABY quilt and moved on. but I couldn’t get these colors out of my head, so last night I started putting it together again and pulled out some more fabrics to go with it. I’m still debating which fabric I’ll use for the background and if I need another blue, but it’s getting there.

bright stack

this morning I worried that my fabrics were too dark and also thought it would be fun to take the same ‘blue and grey’ combo but make it brighter. ok, first of all, I LOVE my stash. there, I said it. second, this is a pretty sweet stack as well. a lot springier than the first one, that’s for sure. I’m loving the pops of pink and green with the much more soothing greys.
at this rate I may have to make a block for every season, but for now the ‘moody’ stack is calling my name. what do you think?

Love that “moody” stack and, yeah, I’d add another blue. Makes me think of jazz 🙂

    Love it.
I like the second one, but the moody one makes my heart go pitter-patter also.
Don’t second guess yourself on this one. 🙂

I wish I could sew! Quilts are just so amazing but I know that I would never be able to knit and sew, one would be left behind lol. I’ll just live through your beautiful projects!
