slowly coming back

my big haul

a week in california and I somehow end up with no pictures to show but lots of fabric that proves I was a piqf. I had an awesome time with rangsiwan and definitely wish I lived in san fran so we could hang out together more, though I fear I would gain 100lbs if I did that.

a little improv piecing

it always takes me a few days or even a week to get back into my normal routine after a trip. (what is this cooking and laundry you speak of?) even my crafting lags behind while my brain and body try to get back into sync. I’ve slowly started a little sewing this weekend with some improv piecing for a mini quilt. there’s a little secret swap as part of the pollen8 quilting bee and even though I’ve had this fabric for months it’s taken me this long to finally get started on my project. I’m still not sure where I’m going with it, so I may bother you all tomorrow for advice/suggestions.

I’m loving the unusual color combo you’re using for the mini-quilt!

Is that dupioni silk? It’s gorgeous – I love the stripes. I’ve been wanting to quilt more, but I don’t have the time! I wish I could stay home and craft all day…

It sounds like you had an excellent time! I wish I could say I miss California, but I was barely old enough to remember it when we left!
