crazy 9 blocks

I’ve learned a few things during my morning crafting sessions:
1. the stitch the sewing machine manual suggests to use with the 1/4″ foot does not create a 1/4″ seam. move the needle to 5.5, instead of 3.5, for that perfect seam.
2. gift sewing, just as gift knitting, brings about anxiety and self-doubt. stop over-thinking things.
3. opened seams make for easier cutting when working with crazy nine patch blocks.
4. you bought the ‘best press’, now use it.
5. if you’re going to steam press something, then make sure you’re wearing pants.

#5 sounds like a funny yet painful disaster. love the colorful wonky blocks.

Darn! I usually consider crafting to be pants-optional but I will heed the warning!

I’ve learned that the hard way as well…and so has my cat, but the unexpectedly good consequence is that he avoids walking on the ironing board!
    The colors look great together.

Haha! Yes, pants sound like a good idea when using a steam iron.

I make sure to wear pants now when I use anything hot! I burned the crap out of my leg with an iron years ago and I still have a scar. Pants are a must!

Number 5 sounds like it hurt.

That sounds like something I would do. Walking around in shorts and a T and burning my arms and legs for want of a bit of fabric (though admittedly a summer problem, because I’m still cold).

I’ve had my own issues with number 5. I’ve learned my lesson! The blocks look awesome!
