philadelphia modern quilters

I've noticed that a lot of knitters have been turning to sewing and quilting lately. nothing like another obsession to increase our stashes I say.

I thought I would help spread the word about the modern quilt guild. the original branch was started by julie, she's been putting everything together for us. I think it's going to be fun meeting up with other quilters beyond the internet.

I'm still in the middle of my quilting frenzy. I've been slowly working on my third quilt while following along with the fourth round of the orb quilt along. I'm loving all the greens I'm working with. it will eventually be a mix of nine-patch and string blocks with curved piecing and appliqued circles. I haven't dared touch the circles yet! but that's ok since I'm only halfway through my string blocks.

I laughed when I read your post today. I have yet to start a quilt but am starting to scout the quilt stores just like I did when I began to knit and am checking out quilting books from the library. Its obession of being obsessed lol. Beautiful colors. Thats what I hope to do one day

Who makes the print with the bee and honeycomb on it? I love that!

I went in the opposite direction. Quilting and sewing to knitting. But I think this is in part due to a severe lack of space for crafting in my current apartment.
Knitting is fairly compact.

I love how bright and spring like your greens are. It really enlivens the winter doldrums (though today was gorgeous out around Boston).

Where are you finding such lovely fabrics?? I am looking for retro, yet elegant fabrics for draperies and pillows... and find nothing at the local fabric stores. Do drop me a line and tell me?
Thanks. (your projects are wonderful!)
