just a little late

sorry for the radio silence, I could come up with a bunch of excuses but I simply lost my knitting mojo for awhile and felt I had nothing to share with you. don't worry though, I'll definitely show you the project that killed me a little bit inside sometime this week. in the meantime, how about a sweet little pot on my last official 08 knit (I said it was late)?

square hat

yarn: romney ridge yarns, barely half a skein each color for stripes. 2 skeins laines du nord cashsilk for lining
needles: 4mm 16" circs
date started: 12.08
date finished: 12.08

square hat

this was a simple little knit for tom using some of the yarn I picked up during our fall Maine vacation. if you want something like this, mix together whitney's ski hat with jared's turn a square. the lining was key since the romney ridge is definitely woolie and off the farm, but so worth it. it did soften up after washing though. I love how the colors worked together, the lemony color is pretty solid while the turquoise is more of a semi solid. I want to knit another one in turquoise and red stripes with a red lining. next time I'm going to remove about an inch worth of stitches to make it more fitted.

Love that pretty hat! There's just something about that project that kills you a little bit inside to put you off of the knitting for awhile!

Well, considering that I just made both of the hats you mention here, this one shouldn't be too difficult! I love the blue you chose especially:)

Been missing you - so glad you've returned to blogland. Love the lemony hat and how you mixed the two patterns together. I just love the decreases in the turn a square hat. I have something against swirly decrease patterns and like this much better.

Hey - weird to leave 2 comments, but I wanted to thank you for adding me to your blogroll. That's so flattering! What's up with Pure Knits? Can't wait.

Hey! It's the famous lined hat! Looks lovely :)

Hi stranger! I'm glad to see you back and back to knitting. I completely understand when the knitting mojo goes on vacation - been there, done that. I hope you had a happy holiday and things are good.

I love those colors together. that hat looks so soft, cozy, and warm.

Love this pattern? Tried it using the jogless stripe technique and carry the yarn along, and kept getting gaps on color changes...but am still working on that.
