ishbel scarf
this image is the true color

after finishing the as-yet-to-be-blogged dreaded project, I needed a little pick me up in my knitting life. chatting it up with joelene led me to totally copy her and cast on for ishbel. I immediately thought of some yarntini I've had in the stash for a couple of years now but could never find the right pattern for. I'm a little too protective with my yarntini stash I guess, but with a color like this wouldn't you be too?

this little scarf just flew off the needles and now it has me jonesing for some more shawl/scarves. I think I finally found the perfect scarf pattern for me: it isn't a huge shawl so the end is always in sight, it isn't one long rectangle that just goes on and on, and it's so light that it's almost season-less. oh, and the best part, no bulk under your coat. just throw it nonchalantly over your shoulders and you're ready to go.

just a little late

sorry for the radio silence, I could come up with a bunch of excuses but I simply lost my knitting mojo for awhile and felt I had nothing to share with you. don't worry though, I'll definitely show you the project that killed me a little bit inside sometime this week. in the meantime, how about a sweet little pot on my last official 08 knit (I said it was late)?

square hat

yarn: romney ridge yarns, barely half a skein each color for stripes. 2 skeins laines du nord cashsilk for lining
needles: 4mm 16" circs
date started: 12.08
date finished: 12.08

square hat

this was a simple little knit for tom using some of the yarn I picked up during our fall Maine vacation. if you want something like this, mix together whitney's ski hat with jared's turn a square. the lining was key since the romney ridge is definitely woolie and off the farm, but so worth it. it did soften up after washing though. I love how the colors worked together, the lemony color is pretty solid while the turquoise is more of a semi solid. I want to knit another one in turquoise and red stripes with a red lining. next time I'm going to remove about an inch worth of stitches to make it more fitted.
