where you'll find me tonight

I'll be rocking out with the hipsters and young'uns to one of my favorite bands. hopefully I won't embarrass the bf too much. last time we went to a show it was for franz ferdinand at the electric factory and for some reason I was the only one jumping around in our area. all the teenagers and early 20-somethings were too cool to move or even sing along. my boyfriend wasn't being a team player that night (he apparently doesn't like ff as much as I do he claims). when did I become the embarrassing old person at the concert? tonight should be different though, we both love the shins and, if anything, I can always make him feel guilty since I got these for our anniversary.

That's so cool! They sold out Seattle, but I saw them at a record store the morning before their 2nd of 2 shows. They're new material is really great!

Happy anniversary! I love the Shins too - I know you'll have a great time! (I'm with you, I'm the oldster bopping along while everyone has their arms crossed. What's wrong with kids these days?)

Have a blast!! Rock out to your heart's content, it's so liberating to not care anymore, right?

Damn! I didn't even know the Shins were playing here tonight!

Oh, wow, I love the Shins! The last show I saw was Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at the TLA; people mostly stood around there, too. I bounced, for lack of room or gumption to do much else!

Well I don't know how you couldn't jump around to FF. That can just go in the bizarro category.

Have fun tonight! You deserve it after all the book craziness. :)

Aww, what a great anniversary gift! And I think it's perfectly acceptable to dance at a concert. Sheesh. My performer friends always moan the immobility of concert goers. It just brings the energy levels down. Not that that would happen at a major show like the Shins!!

happy anniversary! may you rock on for many years to come.

That so totally happened to me at the last Decemberists show I went to - I was singing along, dancing about, and NO one else was! I missed the Shins here - it was a work night!- and was bummed, but I have some great tickets for later this spring to two other shows...
Hope you had a great time. And I hope they play lots of "Chutes too Narrow" songs, as well as the new ones. I *heart* the Shins :)

they give a great show live, althought it will never be like it used to pre-garden state. Those were THE concerts.
James' voice kills me though, and I'd love to hear the new stuff live. Have fun!
