Wednesday Blahs

yesterday I woke up thinking it was sunday. worse, I thought the boyfriend was making french toast for breakfast. when I jumped out of bed to partake I was sadly met with a sleepy man eating shredded wheat. I hate shredded wheat. can we say disappointment?
obviously my brain doesn't know what's going or where it is. actually, I think it knows that it's been in front of this computer forever. I've been in the middle of deadlines, reading/editing patterns, and still trying to decide on the sleeves for my project. so far I have three different ones started. sigh.
it's easy to get bogged down by the work and constant emails from the editor who doesn't knit (I swear we want to kill each other sometimes), add to that the fact the boyfriend is going through project hell at work and the name of this blog becomes even more apt. but then you get a totally unexpected card in the mail. not only is it gorgeous, it's also from a customer! it made my day needless to say. to think that someone took the time to just say thanks- definitely makes the next two days easier to deal with.

i am always available for a vent fest!

That's the worst...thinking that you are farther ahead in the week than you are. I always wonder why it doesn't seem to happen in reverse. Why don't I ever wake up on a Friday thinking that it is Monday only to be pleasantly suprised?

What a beautiful card. I like the way you composed your photo to show it.

Nice surprise! That is a gorgeous card and the photo layout is genius.
I know that your craziness won't be ending anytime soon but I hope you can find some way to relax. A nice bath does wonders. Add a cocktail on top of it and it's a pretty nice escape. Totally speaking from experience there :).

You take such brilliant photos... sorry things are overwhelming at the moment!

This sounds silly, but take five seconds every day, take two or three deep breaths and focus on something. Even if that something is the day that all this will be over!

Thinking about you, girl. ;) Now, make yourself some french toast!

Beautiful card! And may the rest of the week be speedy with a french toast finish!

Beautiful card!
Hang in there. It all sounds exhausting, but also exciting. Sometimes the journey is more important than the final destination. :D

Ugh. Not much worse than expecting french toast and getting shredded wheat. (And I like shredded wheat better than french toast.)
Hope the week speeds up or slows down or lands you right where you want to be!

I hope your week gets better - that little pick me up of a card is stunning! What a nice surprise (even if it didn't have french toast in it)

What a lovely card -it's great when those little surprises arrive in the mail at just the right time.

THat is quite a card! Love your photo of it too.
I'm sure you'll find the right sleeves for your sweater, but I know what you mean about deadlines :) Oh, and could you give the editor a knitting lesson so he/she can understand what we are doing?... Might become a little more appreciative after that!

your ed doesn't knit? that's kinda kooky.
i think there are a lot of us with the winter blahs. i'm totally down in the dumps. (and i'm not much for shredded wheat, either.)

aw, that IS nice and such a pretty card too. here's hoping that things start to look up soon! the weekend is so close :)

funny, i don't think to send cards even though the effort is no different than sending an email.
thanks for the reminder.

Hi Yahaira, Beautiful card - I love the lace effect (and as you know from my contribution to the book, I love me the lace :) ). It's funny how the simplest gestures of kindness really picks us up, isn't it? Good luck with the rest of your week!

I say, go to your fav cafe place and order the biggest breakfast, French Toast, coffee, mimosas. Especially the latter may help with the decision making ;-)

That card is beautiful!

How sweet! And what a beautiful card. The boyfriend ought to be sure to make you French toast this Sunday, though -- just to be fair.

Isn't funny how us knitters have different tastes for knitting needles, yarn, and breakfast cereals...I love shredded wheat but I must agree french toast is tastier!

Pretty card!! Take it easy. I'm really looking forward to see your new book.

I hate it when life bites back like that...You live in the Philly area, right? I suggest going to Sabrina's Cafe in the Italian Market. Get the stuffed french toast and a coffee and take some time to chill out.
The french toast it magical and I believe it can solve any problem ever.

What a great card... ugh, can't we all just send each other chocolate through the internet?

I'd send a hug, but I'm not sure that will even help. It seems that life has generally sucked lately, but I figure things have to look up soon. It's almost spring, after all. Make sure you have the boy make you french toast this weekend.

What a lovely thing to get a handwritten thank you. It's so rare these days. Now, go out and treat yourself to some french toast!

I've tagged you for a little weird thing. Play if you like. I would be happy to learn a few weird things about you. Happy Day!
