don't worry

I totally find time to procrastinate, it's really easy to when you're at the computer all day. there's always bloglines and google talk!

other things that keep me from working:

reorganizing my stash...again - I don't think I need any sock yarn for the next ten years or until Teyani updates with some sock hop again. I probably have at least five sweaters still in their yarn state that I'll finally get to in march or april. now I just need to get rid of all that random yarn I somehow seem to collect.

cooking and baking have found their way back into my schedule. nothing beats randomly baking cookies around 11pm, all because you wanted one cookie. it sucks though when you have to stay up to finish the rest of the batches. I've also been trying out recipes from one of my new mario batali cookbooks. I worry though that batali would kick my ass for bastardizing his recipes since sometimes I kinda just wing it and don't stick with the 'authentic' vibe of the book. I'll be playing around with the lee brothers' book leahsent me. (I'll skip the boiled peanuts and velvet cake though). for a good laugh, I look through amy sedaris's hospitality book. I would love to see her do a knitting book!

going through my music collection- an awesome time killer/waster. the beauty of this one is that you can start listening to an album, then you start searching for lyrics or you look up the band to see if they're still around or touring even if you aren't planning to actually go see them. it's all about the search, not necessarily about what you find. the vib ribbon soundtrack is one of those that I forget how much I love until it randomly plays on itunes or something and no matter what I always have to look up the lyrics (since umm it's kinda in japanese).

writing random posts with no point......

Funny, I spent several hours today reorganizing my stash, too. (I can't get rid of yarn though, so I put it in pretty displays around my living room.) And you're right, Amy Sedaris would write an Awesome knitting book!

You crack me up, I totally was going to write a post just like this, ah well maybe you will see it tomorrow!

oh and I agree stay away from the boiled peanuts, YALL!

haha an amy sedaris knitting book would totally be hilarious.

my computer is a total time suck.

I've been baking a bit, too, lately.

If you like limes, try these cookies. You can mix up the dough very easily--they even caution about overmixing! I just do it by hand---minimal muss and fuss. Then roll up the dough and stash it in the freezer. When you feel like a cookie, you can slice a few off and bake them. And they're good without the icing, too. Although you could freeze that in little dots and take out just what you need.

Very yummy.

I am going to Mario Batali's restaurant, Babbo, tonight for my birthday dinner. I hope the food taste as good as they look in his cookbooks.

Holy shit. Are you feeling ok? I mean there's procrastinating and wasting time and then there's two blog posts in two days. I quite frankly worried about you now.

haha! I love amy sedaris..! she was actually on my name is earl last night and she "knitted". um. I'm not sure she knows how, but if she learned, I'm sure she'd write a hilaaarious book about it!

No boiled peanuts? What about the boiled edamaes?

Or the boiled peanuts & sorgum ice cream? Maybe you should wait and I'll make that when you guys visit! ;)

I wish Amy Sedaris would write a knitting book!! I can only imagine!

Knitted meatloaf ring maybe?

Reorganizing my stash usually means I drag out all of my yarn, pile it on the floor, sit in the middle for fifteen minutes looking at it all...and then I get distracted by tv or roommates and it all stays on the floor for a week. It's basically really counterproductive.

I think I can visualize an Amy Sedaris knitting book and I am positive it involves fair isle penises.

that all sounds like productive stuff to do while procrastinating! :) (i'm with you on the Sock Hop - it will be the only thing I will buy until May if she gets any in stock!)

Look at all the Mario Batali comments! I didn't even know his cookbooks had cookie recipes. I'll have to check em out. I like the randomness of this blog entry. It's like taking a peek into your waking thoughts.

And there's checking your email for th 100th time and swatching for things that you won't cast on in ages.. Anything not to have to sit down and do what you've got to do.

omg, the amy sedaris book is so hilarious, it keeps me from doing lots of things i should be doing. if she wrote a knitting book, i don't know, it'd probably be full of scratchy wool underthings.

an amy sedaris knitting book? now you're talkin'!

One other way to keep you proctratinating, "You're it!"
I don't know how you feel about tags. It is my first. Play if you wish but I'd love to learn 6 weird things about you.

You need a vacation when all of this book stuff is finished.

One of the evil things about the web is that it makes it way too easy to procrastinate. I swear I open up my laptop and then suddenly it's hours later and I haven't accomplished anything.

My brother got me the Amy Sedaris book for Christmas. I think he was scarred when he opened it up the page about, um, hygiene. A knitting book would be hilarious!

It is even worse when you are AT work, and your boss is gone and you have tons of stuff to do, and bloglines is full of unread postings... and all your co-workers decided to go to long lunches...

heh heh - you're such a cutie!
I'll be posting some new colors available in the fiber-version soon - AND, we have potentially added 4 more spinners. yippeee.

When I get the urge to bake cookies at odd hours, I usually only bake one tray. Then I scoop the rest of the dough into balls and put them on a cookie tray in the freezer. The next morning sometime, I put them into ziplock bags or containers and back in the freezer. Then you can take one or two or six out anytime you want and bake them up fresh.

Mmmn fresh baked cookies!
